Photo Scavenger Hunt: April

Once again, I’m late for the photo scavenger hunt hosted by Kathy. I’ll try to do better next month. Really. I will. ;-D

April Showers: I wasn’t ever home to catch actual showers, but I heard today that it rained 23 out of 30 days here in April. April showers made our little pop-up pond and the ducks are loving it (even though they can stand up in it, they seem to think they need to float.) Yay! Our spring ducks are back!

Breakfast: Certainly not my everyday breakfast, but my idea of perfect!

Something to do with Shakespeare: What’s a girl to do? I went to the internet.

Something to Mark St. George’s Day: Ok. I really tried. Please don’t make me dig through all those Beanie Babies again. I know there’s a dragon in there somewhere but I couldn’t find him. I’m pretending St.George slayed a unicorn.

Something Yellow: Whatever happened to red?

Now I can finally go have a peek at the list for May!

XOXO,

  1. Great pictures… Your breakfast is making me hungry! :o) And if you had 23 days of rain then I know now why the UK has been so dry! (love the ducks! Too cute) As for the unicorn…well until you said it wasn’t a dragon I saw it as a dragon!! Boy I think I need to get my eyes tested…or go back to bed :o)

  2. thanks for the fun photos.
    beanie babies???
you haven’t rid yourself of beanie babies yet?
oh my, you’re REALLY going to need to take a decluttering workshop from your fav. fabric hoarder.
how are you going to have room to hoard more fabric if you have piles of beanie babies lurking about? something must be done!
i donated mine to my little sister’s 3rd grade classroom and she used them in the prize bin for – oh, i don’t know, seven years! j/k, they were gone in one year. i had a VERY hard time parting with the bears that i paid entirely too much money for. i asked each of my kids:
“do you need your ____ bear?” (fill in the blank with WWWAAAYY too many beanie baby bears that i HAD to have for each of them and can’t remember the name of now) “nope” “nope” “NOPE”. i figured, if they weren’t counting on selling their beanie babies in their old age for their retirement, i was in the clear. i unloaded them and never looked back. okay, okay – how i went off on this beanie baby diatribe, i’ll never know. it’s late. i need sleep. i have no problems to worry about except for your beanie baby overload. take your pick.

  3. Bless the poor unicorn , so sweet. I cheated on the April Showers too but only because I missed the one or two that we had as they were during the night. Seems like the complete opposite to yours I’m afraid . I must try and post mine today, I’m up to my ears in boys , pup , homework ( mine) and knitting at the mo so please excuse my absence x

  4. SLAYED A UNICORN? Wash your mouth out, Ms Anna. I think you should send the poor creature over here for safekeeping; our family crest involves a unicorn so it would be perfectly happy. No, really, we used to be a posh family. How times change.

  5. Wonderful…I started taking photos for this but I got too sidetracked with our trip. I’m starting on next months tho. I was a bit stumped on something to mark St. George’s Day, yours is great! You have to have some kind of imagination right?

  6. OK. My favourite is definitely the breakfast image. I’m RAVENOUS now.

I need to know more about the beanie baby collection!

  7. Great photos and a fun read on your blog today. I’m just glad I don’t know too much about beanie babies.

  8. I still play with my Beanie Babies but would never think to offer up one on the chopping block!
Oh, my! love the sampling this month.

  9. Slayed a unicorn….Noooooo! All princesses everywhere will be horrified. Perhaps he rode on a unicorn when he was slaying a dragon???

I could use a unicorn and some magic around here right now. Everything is moving at warp speed except me. I can’t seem to even get the wallpaper stripped off my kitchen walls. Of course, it is hard to scrap wallpaper when you spend your whole life driving girls around or doing seventh-grade math that seems more like freshmen level math. Oh well. This too shall pass and then I shall miss it. But if a unicorn were to offer to fly the girls to their various activities, I wouldn’t pass up the offer. :-)

    XOXO–
    Cassie

  10. yep, those beanie babies are going to haunt all of us…maybe i’ll have some thrown into my coffin when i die. hey, the egyptians took real people and animals with them…

  11. hi anna!
oh, i always look forward to your picture post…and as usual, i’m not disappointed…again, you’ve made some great pictures (*chuckle*…clever idea with the slayed unicorn).
hmmm…looking at your breakfast i get serious breakfast envy (even on weekends i don’t get waffles…i would have to make them myself…um…i rather sleep in :) )
    xo

  12. You did a great job with the scavenger hunt. I’ve not had time to do the hunt for the last couple of months, but I have one week of free time and will see if I can try the month of May. I absolutely love your rendition of St.George slaying a unicorn, made me giggle.

  13. WHAT?!? NO DRAGONS?!? i think there might be dragons in every room of this house (mostly cuz of Pern dragons, but also cuz i was born in the Year of the Dragon) … if you ever need one again, just let me know…

i don’t know how to do those emoti-things, but if i DID i would give you some header love cuz it is absolutely lovely!

  14. Great photos!

I have a list of scavengers on my blog (a link just below the blog header) – I will add you to it then I can come and see your photos for May! Good luck :)

  15. Lovely shots! When you get back from market and if you’re feet aren’t killing you from your stilettos (hopefully you took my advice;), can you let me know what camera you use? I’m itching to get back into photography and am looking for a DSLR. I don’t have a budget yet but from what caught my interest, I many have to set a limit! I could use my old fashion camera, you know the ones that uses film but…. Would you believe I had to show a 15 year old what a roll of film was! Wow! I guess I must be ancient to her! lol Cheers!
