We Have a Weiner!

Well, it’s the Day After. Did you all get your fill of chocolate and Easter eggs? Our day was very quiet. No one would even color eggs with me! Party poopers.  ;-P  MeMum made a delicious, traditional Easter dinner — ham and scalloped potatoes. It was wonderful!

Not much else has been going on around here. In my ongoing effort to squash a few UFOs, I’ve dragged out the red yoyos again.

Yoyos

I think I’ve made about half of the yoyos for a double sized quilt. They really go fairly quickly and they’re great for on-the-go — when you’re waiting at the Dr. office, in traffic, etc. Hopefully, it will move right along.

Hmmm. So, I guess you’re here for the bunny drawing? Guess I shouldn’t drag it out any longer. I yelled in to TheManoftheHouse — “Pick a Number!” He yelled back — “Ummm…103!”

Make Life Bunny

Congratulations Shiela C — that’s YOU!!! Send me an e-mail with your vital stats and I’ll pop Make Life Bunny into the mail!

Thank You to all the rest of you for entering my little bunny drawing! I’m sorry I couldn’t give you all a bunny, but don’t give up — it’s spring, the bunnies have been multiplying, and a new batch is just around the corner!

XOXO,
Anna

  1. I had plenty of chocolate this weekend. But just finished stuffing a yummy chocolate cake bit in my mouth before visiting you tonight. Hooray for Sheila! She’s a lucky duck.

  2. I made the same meal for a hoard of 19. Everyone bought d=food too so I got to play around and bake…made cakeballs…a very big hit!

  3. Okay, I have to say it – my heart sank when I saw that Sheila had won that bunny and not me. Sigh. But congratulations Sheila. I hope you love him lots and please teach him to say “eh” just in case he ever makes it to Canada!

Noone would dye eggs with you, Anna? That’s so sad! We didn’t do eggs here either. I have TWO Ukrainian Easter Egg kits and have never used them. Couldn’t muster any interest in this house. Maybe next year.

  4. Yea for Sheila C! We didn’t get to dye eggs here, either . . . but it had more to do with a weekend tainted by sugar highs and odd naptimes. (Couldn’t get all the children to be awake at the same time to color eggs, and I COULDN’T do it more than once. lol/sigh)

P.S.) I like your little no-tag-awards button. Sweet.

  5. I’ve seen people applying makeup, talking on their cell phones, and reading maps while stuck in traffic—but sewing yo-yos??? I think we need to do an intervention. What do you think Brigita?

  6. molly.. .i think you’re brilliant.
an intervention is in order then.
so.. one day, i was retelling a story i had heard to my friend carol….
about a woman, who was seen driving across the evergreen point floating bridge in seattle, while knitting, holding a baby and reading a book.
and my friend carol screamed at me.
IT WAS ME, I TOLD YOU THAT STORY! AND SHE WASN’T READING A BOOK, JUST HOLDING A BABY AND KNITTING!!!!!
i guess i just added the book-reading for good measure!
    haha.
anyway… i’m thinking that anna makes yoyo’s during traffic while TMOTH is driving.
either that, or she put that part in to get a rise out of you molly.
you know, like when you ask your teenager when they’ll be home and they say ‘when i get back’.
let’s schedule the intervention at my house.
    in the summer.
i’ll start cleaning in anticipation of your arrival. i should be ready by then!

  7. oh, and anna…
when you’re done with YOUR yoyos are you going to finish MINE?
    because i’m hopelessly behind.
    molly? what do you think?

  8. and does TMOTH know that he’s your random number generator?
cuz my MOTH doesn’t know that he’s my sugar daddy.
today, he went to work, and then he got a check, deposited it into the account, and while I was at work, i spent it on yarn online.

  9. Darn, I was hoping it would be me! Congrats to Sheila. I managed to avoid chocolate yesterday, with the exception of my frosted Pop Tarts :o)

  10. Great progress on the yoyos Anna, they are so much fun! I always love to have a to go project, it makes the time go by so much faster.

  11. Congratulations to Sheila C on being the winner of your wonderful giveaway.

Your yo-yo project looks like great fun. One of these days I’m going to try making those.

  12. Ahhh… congrats to Sheila… :o)
Good to hear they are multiplying at your house..lol… they are the cutest!!! Hope you get tooo many!! :o)

  13. Ah, congratulations to Sheila. Nice yo yos – aren’t they also called Suffolk puffs – I’m a mile from the Suffolk border but I’ve never seen any there!

  14. So I’m totally not speaking to TheManoftheHouse anymore…he’s gonna be soooo sorry!
Not Sheila’s fault though so Congrats to Sheila :)
Your fabric stacks look so pretty!

  15. Mmmmmm potatoes and ham.
Oooooh the reds. I like it. Hurry and finish so we can see :)

Of course I ate chocolate! My FAVORITE chocolates in the world are Russell Stover Dark Chocolate Maple Cream Eggs and they are practically impossible to find at any other time of year!

  18. Congratulations to your winner Miss Anna. She’s gonna love her bunny.
I keep wanting to try some yo-yo’s. That’s as far as I get. lol

  19. Congratulations to the winner!

The yo-yo’s are a good on the go project. I was just over at my sister’s the other day, and she had a little bear on display that I made years ago with yo-yo’s for the body, arms and legs. I think it was an old Indygo Junction pattern. I had forgotten how cute it was, and how small. I can’t imagine making a whole quilt!

  20. I love your random number generator. Very high tech!! Those yo-yo’s tempt me every time I see them. I need another handwork project like a need another 10 pounds on each thigh! I’m resisting the temptation (For more handwork, that is. The jury is out on the 10 pounds for each thigh…lol!).

    Happy Spring, Anna~

Where ever did you get the cute little bunny in the car on your Easter post?? And… no chocolate here! Really watching the calores!! 15 pounds off and it certainly adds a skip to my day!
    Hugs to you!
