Six on Saturday

1. LOOK! Lookie Look what has arrived — The Ghastlie Family Reunion! When I ordered this fabric at fall market, they told me it would be May before it would ship. All the more time to play and have fun! Isn’t that pregnant ghastlie with her baby carriage just too cute? I’ve put the Ghastlies in my little store — get ’em while you can!

2. A month or two ago I caught BigDaddy buying some awful grocery store cookies, so I’ve been trying to replenish his cookie supply on the weekends. And because a batch is too much for just one person, I make the sacrifice and help him eat them. He requested something with raisins, so this week’s selection is Martha Stewart’s Raisin Bars.

3. Entry hall painting in progress — WooHoo! I was REALLY worried about the color when looking at the little sample, but I love it. It’s Latte by Sherwin Williams.

4. We had such a mild winter that the parsley in my little herb garden has come back. That never happens and I’m thrilled. (Please ignore the fact that I haven’t cleaned out my little herb garden yet. Thank You.)

5. I’ve started a new little project. Can you tell what it is? There’s not much time to get it finished!

6. Shoot. I really don’t have six things. I just said I did ’cause Five on Saturday isn’t alliterative.

Oh Wait! I do have a 6. Have a great weekend!

XOXO,
Anna

  1. I have four things to say. One, you are a terrific person to sacrifice and eat those cookies for your husband…what a trooper. Two, I love your paint color and give you Kudos for being brave enough to go up that really tall ladder. Three, so glad your parsley came back up (mine does every year). And Four, Are you doing closed herringbone stitch behind that embroidery. I love it! When all four of my girls were little I made them 32nd/check gingham dresses with shadowwork bunny collars. Wish I had someone to wear them now. Can’t wait to see the end embroidery product.

  2. You’re pretty funny there girly! Those cookies look fabulous. I’d have to help a guy out too. Glad you had a mild winter cuz we sure didn’t. Actually, we had a mild winter but now we’re having winter in spring. Snowed all last week with temps never above the 30’s. You’re paint color is wonderful. We also went with Sherwin Wms. Picked Nomadic desert for most of the house. Have a great weekend.

  3. Ciao from Montecatini, Italy! Free WiFi in the hotel – woohoo. Love the Ghastlies fabric (some day I’ll cut into mine…) and those cookie bars look yummy.

Is it Saturday? I’ve lost track of the days. Sigh.

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE The Ghastlies and I NEED some! Your Dad is lucky to have you to bake for him, you are a wonderful daughter xoxo PS Love the paint color. Have a great week end Jewels

  5. So glad that you love the paint, and yes I wouldnt be brave enough to climb up that really tall ladder. Your embroidery looks beautiful. I absolutely love the ghastlie fabric – I can just see a knitting bag made up out of that. Hope you have a fantabulous weekend!

  6. So here’s my 6 for Saturday. We went to Annika’s 4th birthday party today. My daughter Meg made her a tiered pink layer cake with Princess’ on it. 10 mo old Ilika had a wonderful time at the party climbing up the stairs. My roses look good where the first throw is coming out, bad where my husband decided to try not trimming them back for the winter. Tomorrow we go to the nursery to pick up some night blooming jasmine to plant outside our bedroom window. we had our favorite authentic Mexican on the way home, nothing better than carnitas and boiled beans with flour tortillas. Have a great weekend Anna, Oh and 7, I have bought a ton of fabric lately, I’d better get sewing.

  7. The latte entryway looks great! BigDaddy’s cookie/bars do too. You’re right, the prego ghastlie is just too fun. What will they think of next?

You should see my gardens. They are calling me to clean them up for the new upstarts, but I haven’t yet. I’m glad for you and your parsley. Fresh herbs should taste good right about now.

Love the Ester egg embroidery. cute.

  8. Looking good, Anna, love the paint, herb gardens are great (used to have one but not at this time), and the stitchery is pretty. Happy weekend to you too.

  9. OOOHHH…I want to make something with Easter eggs! I don’t do enough spring decorating. Probably a little late to get on that for this year!

  10. Over achieving again! I’d be SO nervous putting that “latte” on the walls—but it looks great since you have a lot of light in your entry! Your Easter stitching looks pretty!

  11. Love the fabric.Sun splitting the stones here in Ireland.Sending you a few rays to thank you for always brightening my day! Mary

  12. Eeep, the ghastlies are here!!! I have been eagerly awaiting the new collection; ) Love your embroidery, so perfect for spring!

  13. You are a good daughter. I keep my Dad supplied with homemade chicken soup. He loves it. Speaking of… I need to make more for him.

  14. Maybe some parsley could go into some thimbles for a new spring header…I know you’ll think of something so cute. Miss you lots – let me know if you’re going to be down my way and I’ll take you to lunch. Have to get my house in shape as I’ll probably try to move into a condo before this yard drives me nuts and/or puts me into the hospital (another story). big Hugs, Robin

  15. Well I know you’ll whip up something fun with the Ghastlies – cuz you always do. LOVING the new entryway color – looking really sharp and what a pretty door you have :). Those bars look pretty amazing as well – and how sweet of you to take one for the team and help him out lol. Loving the embroidery – nothing like some handwork to relax a girl a bit – you’ll make it in time :) – can’t wait to see the finished project. Hugs

  16. Everything is looking mighty good there in Thimbleannaland. Especially the cookies. I went and looked at Martha’s recipe, but your cookies look lots better than hers. And what a sweet little Easter egg stitchery you’ve got going there. You will show the finished product, right?

  17. Ghastlies- Fab!!
Cookies- Yum. I wish I was your neighbor yet again.
    Paint- Sublime. Love it!
Parsley- Yay for those intrepid little plants!
The weekend- Busy, busy, busy! And, now, shop hop is over for another year. Insert big sigh here______. :)
Hope you have a wonderful week, Anna.

  18. That is sweet fabric! I didn’t order any as I wasn’t sure what I would do with it besides a backing. So, I’ll just sit back and watch what you do with it! Your are so creative! So, are you hand embroidering the pillow case from Crabapple Hill? Love that pattern! Thanks for sharing!

  19. YAY!!! Painting looks BEAUTIFUL! Aren’t you glad you did it? And, when/if you tire of the color it is easily changed. Wall paper is just too permanent in my books. ;0

I LOVE the bunny stitchery! Hey, you’ll have fun sitting at the table stitching while the ham is cooking. That’s a GOOD thing. ;p

  20. You busy girl you. I’m jealous of all that you get done. The only thing I’ve sewn lately is a set of “flack” vests for my Peacekeeper costume for the Hunger Games premiere. I had to make one for Brenna too. I didn’t even get out my Easter decorations this year. I’m going to Candice’s so am just skipping it.

  21. I’m always finding parsley thoughtout my garden – I have so many things that just hop around the place from self seeding. I love it.

  22. What a very thoughtful daughter you are! To bake AND to help eat! LOL I’m sure your dad loves your company even more than the cookies. :)

  23. I love the new Ghastiles Line. To Die For!! And the preggers Mamma ~ well, thats just right up my alley. Happy Easter!!
