In the blink of an eye, it’s all over. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great time and are just now attempting to return to normal. For many years, when TheManoftheHouse and I were first married, my side of the family all lived in different parts of the country. We loved Christmas when we’d all get together, sleep under the same roof for a week, and enjoy each others company. Now that we all live in the same city, we miss being cooped up together, so we re-create it here at home. On Christmas Eve we went over the river and through the woods to MeMum and BigDaddy’s (it’s probably less than 5 miles LOL) and we just came home today. MyDadLovesMeBestSister and her family are still at MeMum’s. I could spend all week there, but TheManoftheHouse misses his own bed, so we come home after just a few nights.
I took a few pictures just to prove that I did finally get some Christmas decorations up. I still have a little hand sewing to get done, but now there’s no pressure and plenty of time. I love these lazy days between Christmas and New Year’s. Time to lay around in jammies, reflect on the holidays, and start to plan for a little organization in January. I hope all of you are relaxing and enjoying these more laid-back days too!

Keep those jammies on as long as you can I say. I could live in my jammies. Nothing is more comfortable. Pretty decorations you have there. Now it’s time to take them down. LOL!!!

Your days sure sounds good!! The days between all the celebrations are the best I think. No pressure, being lazy, reading, watching dvd’s, listening to music, knitting, sewing, stitching and having some walks when the wheather is fine.

Oh that sounds wonderful at your parents. I too have been lounging around in my jammies and keep falling asleep on the couch in the afternoon. I had no idea I was so tired!

Sister – I think you have a case of the lazies and I think it sounds WONDERFUL and I say go for it. Spending time in my jammies is the perfect way to spend a day. I’m going to have me one of those days on Sunday and I’m going to love it.
Your family get together sounds so nice and enjoyable. It’s hard when you get together only for a few hours. I don’t think anyone ever relaxes like they do when you spending a few days together. Your tradition is one I hope you keep doing. Even thought it’s only 5 miles from home.

Oh, sounds great! We’ve had the ultimate lazy day today – swings and spoon puppets for the girls, Super Mario Galaxies for my hubby and sewing for me – a couple of tea cosies, because we are drinking a lot of tea these days!
Sounds wonderful! Those days are a treasure! Had a wonderful day a couple of days ago watching a romantic dvd with my mom before my parents left, went to the movie with my husband and two oldest children, and then a new dvd when we returned home! Haven’t seen so many films in one day for a loooooooong time! Just wonderful! Enjoy your holidays!
Agree so much about the lovely lazy days when the Big Day is over but the pressure is off! Like you, every year I lunge into the new year bursting with good intentions—to make Christmas ornaments and gifts early in the year, and to organise the sewing room, and to methodically work my way through the unfinished symphonies before starting any new projects….Sigh. maybe this year I can keep to my plans, at least until February! Happy New Year!

It’s jammie days here also. Mr Yummers got new jammies from my girls that said Mr Mistletoe on the teeshirt top. He’s got them on right now… and they make me laugh.

We tried to dip pretzel rods in chocolate and the chocolate separated and was a mess, mess, mess.

I love that you spend a few overnights with your family even though you live so close. Deep down I’ve always wanted to do that, but my “sensible” side said staying over is only for long distance visits. That’s so NOT TRUE! Thanks for waking me up to that, Anna. I’m sure my mom will love it–not sure about Brian, though.
