A Bunny Blogaversary

Boy, things are so lazy around here, my toughest decision everyday is pj’s or bathrobe LOL! I’ve been having a good time playing games and goofing off with family, which means I haven’t been on the computer very much this week. I wanted to hop on this evening though, and take care of a little bid-ness. A little bunny bid-ness.

First off, several months ago, I lured three little bloggers into my Pay It Forward project. I finally got my gifts mailed off, so I thought I’d show them to you. I made each PIFette a bunny and a little doll quilt. Since Sharon loves red, I made hers in red and I was lucky enough to give hers to her personally when I met her in November.

One day I saw something made from the Dick and Jane fabrics on Jade’s blog, so I made her bunny and quilt out of Dick and Jane fabrics with a few extra added coordinates.

And for Shropshire Girl, I have no explanation how I picked her fabrics. I just thought she might like the Susan Branch fabrics. I’m hoping she’s received her bunny by now as she’s been kind of missing in action in the last several weeks. She’s probably actually enjoying the holidays with her family!!!

Now, for the rest of my Bunny Bid-ness — TODAY is my BLOGAVERSARY!!! WooHoo! It’s been such a fun year. I started out with a blogspot blog and then moved here to Thimbleanna.com. I remember I felt so shy and funny about that first blog entry, I didn’t even do a proper blog introduction — I just jumped right in and started complaining about my neighbors who were cutting down so many trees. Since that first entry, I’ve met so many of you from all over the world and I’ve truly enjoyed our e-mails back and forth. I’ve learned heaps from all of you — you’re all so full of wonderful ideas and I’ve tried to incorporate many of them into life here at Thimbleannaland. (The latest fabulous success was the yummy Cranberry Relish recipe shared by Rohanknitter. I made it for a side at our Christmas dinner and it was a huge hit! Thank you very much Ms. Weathertop!)

THANK YOU so much to all of you who visit here, and especially to those of you who leave a comment along the way to let me know what you think. I LURVE comments and feedback and a little two-way conversation. Anyway, I don’t want to get all sentimental and sniffly over this first year of blogging, so we’ll get right to the fun stuff. You know a blogaversary means a give-away!

Blogaversary Bunny

And at Thimbleannaland, a give-away means a bunny. You know the routine — just a leave a comment on this entry between now and midnight (Eastern Standard Time) next Saturday, January 5th and I’ll draw a winner on Sunday, January 6th. (Unless I’m still in my pj’s and I forget! ;-) )

XOXO,
Anna

  1. as always your photography is beautiful, something I always love to see when I visit your blog. Your bunnies are gorgeous and each one of them are made with so much thought and precision. Beautiful! I amgoing to look into that cranberry recipe…cranberries were hard to find here just before Christmas!

  2. Wow, you don’t joke with your PIF presentes, they’re fantastic! And happy blogaversary! You know what, while reading your entry, I remembered that I started mine on Typepad last December too, and I went and looked at the date, and guess what, it was on December 30! Isn’t that funny? I must do a giveaway too, now to find something…

  3. Happy blogiversary, dear Anna! I love your blog and your bunnies! The PIF-gifts are gorgeous! I would love to be in the draw! Have a wonderful New Year, blogging and creating!

  5. Happy blogaversary Anna, I’ve so enjoyed reading your blog. What wonderful PIF gifties. Now if by chance I can’t convince you to pull my name from the hat, will you share with us where you got that adorable pattern?

  6. Happy Blogiversary, Anna!

My “Mary” bunny needs a pal so count me in on this giveaway!

    Blessings,

    Mary Jane

  7. I love reading your blog. I am making my DGD a Dick and Jane Quilt so I’ll use leftovers to make her doll a quilt using your little quilt as an “idea”. I’d love one of your bunnies so plez draw my name!

  8. Happy Blogiversary Anna. Thanks so much for all the help that you gave me when I started my blog, and the encouragement to join a PIF. I love your bunnies and your blog.I hope that you and your family have a Very Happy New Year.

  9. Happy Pif! And Happy Blogiversary!
I gotta get one of those darling bunnies, they are so adorable.

The ladies will adore their little quilt and bunny to match.

  10. Happy Blogaversary from a very un-lazy (well at least for today) blogger who has spent the day at the allotment! Ok, so I only had a bonfire and pulled up all the dead stuff but it was better than being indoors all day – I’m muddy and I stink of smoke – fabulous! You don’t need to include me in the draw as I already have my very own Thimblebunny (although I would always be delighted to win another!!!) Enjoy the laziness! Lucy xxxx

  11. OH!! I just love your stories about empty nest child and I really love your bunnies!! Happy New Year! Libby from GA

  12. Happy Blogaversary! I’m so glad I stumbled across your blog, quit lurking and started commenting. Of course I would LOVE a bunny, but I really wanted to congratulate you. So, congratulations!

  13. Happy Blogaversary. I so love reading all of my blogs – it’s like one very large circle of friends. To make you feel better, I must confess that I am writing this while in my sock moneky jammies, fashion maven that I am…

Hope I get the bunny – she is toooooo sweet.

  14. Happy Blogaversary to you sister. You’ve been a real inspiration to me since I’ve found you. I thank you for that.

Those PIF’s are adorable and I know your partners are thrilled with them.

So I’m still hoping to have one of those little bunnies from Thimbleanna land hop on over to the yellowfarmhouse to keep my company in the sewing cave.

Looking forward to lots more inspiration in 2008, but no pressure here, LOL.

    Hugs – karen

  15. LOVE!!!!! The bunnies are sooooooooooooo cute and LOVE the little quilts. You are such a sweetie pie. Marry Me!!! Happy 1st year, I enjoy reading your Blog so much, keep up the great job. KissKiss, Jewels

  16. I am so glad you started blogging! Your blog is so full of loveliness and fun–even when you are complaining about the neighbors! ;)

  17. I too love your blog – you’re always so cheery and funny. Please put me on the bunny-draw list – maybe one day I’ll have a grandchild to give it to (she said pathetically) – though actually I think it would have to go on a high shelf to keep it from being loved too much by our catlets…

    Happy New Year!

  18. Happy Bloaversary!!! I just stumbled across your blog and just LOVE those bunnies!!! Thanks for the chance!!!

It’s great being lazy and living in pj’s.

  19. Happy Blogiversary to ya and I’m glad you FINALLY showed my goodies. Now I can show them too. I just love them and everytime I see that cute bunny sitting in my sewing room I smile. I love my little quilt too but the best part was meeting you and your friends, oh and MOM too.
You dont have to enter me cause I already have my very own bunny!!! Not that I’m bragging of course.

  20. Happy Blogaversary!! Your bunnies and their doll quilts are soooo cute!
That’s funny that your family eats chowder every year – maybe if we’re very lucky my bil will make it an annual event for us, too. I’m so glad you decided to try the relish and I’m glad it was such a hit! There’s just something about it. (and yes, it’s very healthy except for that sugar – heehee)

  21. Just stumbled upon your blog a short while ago. I love all the great ideas and characters! I do love the little bunnies and your friends are very lucky that you spent so much time taylering each gift to their personalities. How very thoughtful! I have been enjoying blogging…not sure which I enjoy most writing or reading others blogs, but each have enriched my life in many ways!

  22. Happy blogiversary to you, happy blogiversary to you!!!!!!!!!! and just stay in those pj’s and be comfy!!! Have a very Happy New Years!

  23. Happy bloggiversary, Anna! You can leave me out of the draw since the bub and I already have our own Anna original bunny. I’ve always loved your blog…you know I even soaked up your archives earlier in the piece. I do believe you have a photo of yourself in that Hawaii trip. Don’t worry. I won’t tell. Have a Happy New Year to you and your family!

  24. Happy Bloggy Birthday! I hope you’ll have another great year of great posts and great pictures.

    Jane
(PS – you can leave my name out of the draw…I’ve got a bunny in bits, which I hope to complete very very soon!)

  25. Happy New Year Anna – it has just gone midnight here and the fireworks over Sydney Harbour have just finished. It’s still about 35deg outside in Melbourne – too hot to sit outside even! Congrats on a year of blogging – I love our little chats about life in our own particular parts of the world. I love your words and your gorgeous pics and I really love your sense of humour!! I look forward to more fun in the New Year.
    PS. Lucky PIF recipients!

  26. OH the PIF goodies are wonderful – lucky girls! Someday I’ll win a bunny from you – Sigh! LOL

Happy blogging anniversary – you do have a great blog – always a fun read!

  27. Truthfully I would have left my “oh gosh” comment no matter give away or not. I cannot believe how absolutely darling the bunnies and little quilts are. So so so so clever. I have to admit my favorites are the Dick and Jane. As a tail end baby boomer I have a soft spot for Dick and Jane. (When I was in first grade they did away with Dick and Jane and started a new reading program but I still love them and have a small collection) I almost got misty eyed seeing how beautiful the work is on the bunnies/quilts. Hey its New Years Eve, I always get sentimental/sad for what was, could have been and what might be for the past year and year to come. I’m looking forward to 2008 and happy that blogs like yours have inspired me to start my own.

    Thanks always for sharing. Nanette

    Hi Anna,
Happy blog anniversary to you Anna. I am a fellow quilter who enjoys reading the blogs when I can. I live in Western Canada where the weather is infinitely colder than yours right now. I have enjoyed reading your blog and love your bunnies. They remind me of a bunny that my mother in law used to draw. She used it to make an applique baby quilt for my niece who soon will be 29 years old. There is something quite charming about bunnies aren’t there. Keep writing your lovely blog..
Warmest regards from another Anna- Western Canadian quilter,
    Anna

  29. Hi Anna!!! Happy BLOGAVERSARY to you!!!

I LOVE that D&J fabric!!! I have made a couple of little fun things with it… but use it sparingly!!! I’m a huge MM fabric fan!!!

Keep up the great blogging!!! I look forward to visiting daily in the coming year!!!

Happy New Year to you and your family!!!

    lala :o)

  30. Happy Blogaversary to you Anna! I think as I’m writing this in my pj’s I should get priority don’t you! In fact I seem to have spent most of the holidays in jimjams and even managed to change into them last night whilst friends were round celebrating the New Year with us. how oh how am I going to adapt to “normal”life again? Congrats on the blogaversary – I’m so glad you decided to start your blog.

  31. What wonderful gifts–I love each and every one. One of our daughters has asked me to make a couple of doll quilts for our youngest grandchild to enable the kitchen towels to put back to their original use. Your little quilts are inspiring me to start making them.

Happy Blogaversary! No need to enter me into the drawing. I just want to let you know how much I enjoy your blog.

  32. Happy Blogaversary!! I do love your blog too!! My the bunnies and the quilts are very adorable. Do you have a pattern for the bunnies…they would make great Easter gifts!

  33. Happy Blogaversary – you make me giggle so much. Thanks for sharing your family and all it’s goings on. I feel like I really know you all.

  34. This is the first time I’ve commented on a blog because I find yours just delightful! What a creative person you are–how do you find time to do it all? Keep up the great work!

  35. Your PIF quilts are adorable and so is the bunny! I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now and it has become one of my favorites!

  36. LOVE your bunnies! Congrats on your blogaversary. Blogs certainly make the world a smaller place where like-minded souls can connect.

  37. Happy Blogaversary, Anna! I can’t believe it’s only been a year. I feel like I’ve “known” you for much longer.

As always, your craftiness is beautiful AND inspiring. Love your bunnies! XO
