Happy 4th of July!

I hope all of you in the US had a Happy and Safe 4th of July today! Ours was short and sweet — it whizzed by, but we had a great time at our traditional cookout with family and friends.

July 4th

We were lucky enough to have TheFirstChild and SweetiePie for just 24 short hours — it all went by too quickly. SweetiePie and I made a few patriotic goodies (fun ideas from Pinterest!)  I love the 4th of July — it’s always so fun to be outside, relaxing, having fun and eating good food.

July 4th

Do you remember when Pat Sloan hosted the Aurifil Blog Hop? Now it’s time to set all the blocks that we made into a little quilt. There will be more giveaways, just like last time. Stop by Pat’s tomorrow as she kicks off the fun!

July 4th

Now…off to bed to be lulled to sleep by the sound of fireworks!

XOXO,

Anna

  1. RWB strawberries. AWESOME! Love the ice cream sandwiches too. No partying done over here. Our neighbors across the street invited the husband and I over for fireworks and socializing. My husband went over for a bit, came home for me and found me asleep on the couch. Needless to say, he went back by himself and I snoozed on the couch for 2 hours, got up and went to bed. I guess I was tired!

  2. Visual treats as always. Fell asleep the same way – sounds of the fireworks and then the thunder and lightening kicked in when the fireworks, stopped, lol.

  3. Oh my gosh you know how to do things right. I was pretty much a schlub yesterday. We partied Sunday with the family and yesterday was a day off. Works for me but I wish I had been at your house.

  4. Oh rats …… I was going to be the first to comment this morning – but WordPress demanded that I sign in!! Now that lots of others have beaten me to it, I am being allowed to leave a comment – and I can;t remember what I was going to sya – probably just that I hope the blue coating on the strawberries didn’t turn you blue too (I was thinking about one of the characters in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!)

  5. HHMMM…I love ice cream sandwiches! The cheaper the better!

We did s’mores. Totally non-patriotic, but also totally tasty!

  6. Lulled to sleep by fireworks? I don’t know what kind of fireworks you’re talkin about but the older I get the more I don’t like the ones “in your neighborhood”. The ones downtown on top the buildings are coolish – ooohs and aawwwws.
Such happy and fun treats – how’s the kitchen coming. I need to score (sound like a drug addict don’t I) some Ghastlies fabric. Gotta have some. Always fun at Anna’s house…

  7. I saw strawberries made like that on someone’s blog. They are so cute. And the ice cream sandwich…..YUMMY!!!! I love those.
So glad the fireworks have stopped. They were driving me crazy!!

  8. Theres a celebration we certainly dont have. Sounds fun. Glad you had a good day Anna
