Pie Day

Thanksgiving is here!  Just popping in for a second — the kids are coming in the back door as I type.  I was making my pie doughs just a few minutes ago and the sun was so pretty streaming through the window that I had to stop and take a picture.  What a beautiful day to be thankful for!

Pie Day

Tonight, SweetiePie and I will finish our preparations and get the table ready. It will look just like it did two years ago — the last time we hosted our family Thanksgiving.

Pie Day

I’m so thankful that my little sweeties have arrived safely and that my family will all be here for the holiday. If you’re in the US, I hope you’ll have a wonderful holiday, surrounded by friends and family and all that you love!

Happy Thanksgiving!
XOXO,
Anna

  1. We’re having a quiet one this year, but we’re going to enjoy our time with the ones who are here. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones Anna.

  2. Well it looked lovely the last time…I hope that you all have a fantastic time! I know my aunt is driving to Pittsburgh tomorrow so hopefully the weather will play nice.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Happy Thanksgiving Anna. What a beautiful and incredible tablescape. I love your pumpkins on the table as well. I also just got done with the pies’ just in time.

  4. It’s Bun Day at my house. I got out of making pies this year since I’m not hosting! Wishing you JOY and fun as you share Thanksgiving with your loved ones.

  5. A very happy thanksgiving. It is such a lovely celebration. So nice to stop and think of all we have to be thankful for. No such holiday here in Ireland but I will find a few minutes to be thankful today. Starting with QUILTS !!!

  6. Happy thanksgiving Anna, how lovely it must be to be celebrating with your family. We don’t do thanksgiving here, but I did make a pumpkin cake (I couldn’t quite get my head around the pumpkin pie thing!) as we have an au pair his year from Milwaukee.

The funny thing is, I wished her a happy thanksgiving this morning and she had forgotten!! Perhaps because it’s been stinking hot here and doesn’t feel remotely thanksgiving-y at all when you are used to snow.

I had a friend who used to live in the US and she calls it chrissie without pressies! Sounds fab to me!

Love your table, have great time with your family and enjoy having them all together.

  9. Who wouldn’t love all that sunshine streaming through the windows into your new kitchen? The table looks lovely. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  10. Hi Anna,
I come from Australia and like you love the ghastlies fabric. So does my niece and she has asked if I could make her a quilt like the one – pardon me – the three you made. This niece dresses up as the absinthe fairy, loves halloween and I guess any excuse to party on. Would it be a breach of copyright or something (like bad manners not to have asked) if I utilised your idea and made the quilt. It will not be shown, sold or anything else but put on the bed, couch and loved. You would get the credit for the wonderful idea.
Love your table decorations!!!!!! Must watch and see what you do for christmas.

  11. The table is beautiful. It had to make everything feel fabulous to “dine” like that. It really is pie day. At my house that was the major attraction.
