Maybe WordPress Will Like Chocolate

Well, apparently my WordPress and my Webhost don’t know how to play nice together and I can’t get any more comments on the last post. My Webhost says its WordPress’s fault. Any guesses on what WordPress will say? I’m hoping to scare the darn thing into submission by having another post just one day after the last one. We’ll see. If you can’t comment on this post either, we’ll know it didn’t work and I’ll just talk to myself!

A few very funny things that might be of interest:

Poor Molly was horrified that I would actually make a chocolate cake in the microwave, so she’s written a very funny post aimed at saving me from myself. She’s included a GREAT looking recipe for a chocolate cake that you might want to check out. I’m definitely going to try this one!

I think sweet Vallen also took pity on my desperate attempts for chocolate and she’s posted a YUMMY looking chocolate pudding with raspberry sauce. Holy Cow — I LOVE chocolate and raspberry! Can you feel your hips expanding???

And then there’s Brigette. My clown friend extraordinaire! When I wrote the post about my Aunt Annie’s Sweet Rolls, Brigette fell in love with my Patisserie Dome and has been, well, shall we say obsessed with it? Her efforts to obtain one have, so far, been in vain, so she has resorted to making one of her own until she can get a real one.

Now, the funniest part about that (only I’m crying while I’m laughing) is that almost at the same time she was posting about her new dome, I broke my dome while washing it. Oh, the anguish! So, Brigette’s temporary solution was perfect for me and I hurried and made my own temporary dome last night.

Patisserie Dome

Of course, mine had to be made in Brigette’s honor. And mine really isn’t a dome and doesn’t have apple strudels in it — only my oatmeal cookies. But it will have to do for awhile. And, notice how all the words on mine are all frenchy sounding. That totally wouldn’t work if Brigette’s name had been oh, Mabel or something.

So, thank you for the laughs and recipes Ladies!  Blog friends are pretty cool!

XOXO,
Anna

Oh, and last, but certainly not least! Happy Birthday MeMum! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day! I’d show everyone another of your beautiful quilts in your honor, but {ahem}*someone* hasn’t looked into recovering the pictures from the crashed hard drive yet!

  1. Hmmm. Not so fast. Apparently WordPress only likes Chocolaate from ME. Sorry. Hopefully the forums at WordPress will be able to help. We’ll see. Thanks for trying to comment!

  2. posting on your OWN site, three times?????? are we getting a bit desperate?
    good morning sunshine!!
happy birthday anna’s-mum from anna’s imaginary friends.
    your dome’s upside-down.
and thank GOODNESS my name is MABEL… or something! i’d have an online pen-name. something with mexican food in it :)
i’ll join the throng of people posting real chocolate recipes for you. i’ll have one up this afternoon.
thanks for the laugh. i’m truly very sorry that your dome broke.

  3. Too funny; I posted on Molly’s blog encouraging her to post her recipe because I was absolutely prepared to make your microwave version….I just like that idea of the individual-sized cake. After reading Molly’s post today, I am feeling guilty owning a microwave!

  4. Oh my goodness, you are hysterical and then add in “Mabel”, whew, a tag team. I wondered about the comments closing, mystery solved.

  5. Yesterday I wanted to leave a comment about the beautiful quilts but it wouldn’t allow me to do so. I thought it was me but am relieved it was just a glitch in the system. Anyway, I loved your pictures and quilts.

  6. Yesterday I thought you had closed your comments for a personal reason and I was wondering . . . I’m glad to see it was just a technical difficulty! Happy Birthday to your mom.

  7. Anna – thanks for the birthday love to Tessa! Happy Birthday to your Mom too! It is a good day, huh? Hope all is well – this weekend is the BIG SURPRISE PARTY for my Mom’s 70th! I can hardly wait…and yet I’m so nervous that I’ve forgotten something. UGH! Have a great day and weekend…

  8. The cake in the mug should be called “When a pint of ice cream isn’t enough to pull you out of depression.” It looks like a good idea. Let us know when you have the recipe perfected. Love your bedspreads in the guest room – they look like they were made in the last century and handed down.

  9. Oh Anna your quilts in the previous post just look amazing (as does your house for that matter!) but what a shame about your dome :( thank goodness for mad bloggy friends with clever ideas on how to make their own! Lucy x

  10. Hooray! I can post a comment! =) I, too, LOVE the chocolate – raspberry combination. Also, I wanted to tell you that the quilts on your last post are just lovely! Your house looks so neat and organized – what a productive weekend.

  11. OK lets see if I can comment tonight and if not I know I’ve been put on the black list. I bet you didn’t know when you posted the micro cake you’d have so much fun!! Brigette and Molly are way too cute. I’ve been laughing all night. Sorry about your dome. That is really really sad. I loved your dome!!

  12. Brigette is a hoot! Must go by and check out HER recipe…..So sorry about your dome—but at least you had a model for improvising another…..

  13. Of course WordPress likes chocolate (who doesn’t?!). Sorry I’ve missed so many of your lovely posts Anna, it’s been very busy. I wish I could pop over to sample some of your lovely cooking.

  14. Oh my goodness, Lady! I’m totally cravin’ something sweet after reading your post. Brigette’s Faux Patisserie is darling, by the way!

  15. My what a STIR (tee hee) you have caused with your microwave chocolate cake. Who would have thought. However, all this talk about desserts has made me hungry and I think that now I am off to make some cookies of my own.

  16. You’re not alone, Thimble! We love you and your micro chocolate cake which I’m totally making because sometimes fast chocolate cake is better than none at all and I think you’ll agree.

    xo

  17. I’ve “discovered” that at the coffee house ‘down the alley, and around the corner’ has *magnificent* chocolate “muffins”, if you can call huge gobs of moist chocolate cake studded with chocolate chips muffins and get away with it. They can almost send a heavyweight like Clementine into gylcemic shock… I’ve already got you one reserved for your next trip to Franklin…
and I have to say, I’m loving seeing my name in your sidebar, on the FAB bag. I’m famous! (swoon) Cami

  18. I don’t know about wordpress but bring on the chocolate….love chocolate :-)!!! Sorry about your dome, but great replacement!! I have a dome and handling it and keeping it safe is a big problem.

  19. I don’t care what any one says that microwave cake just looks fun! I plan to make it with my daughter. It looks kind of like a science experimant (that you can eat). But yes the other recipes sound devine! and raspberry and chocolate are my favorite.

    So sad about your dome.

  20. How funny Anna! I was thinking you must have been craving chocolate in a bad way when I read the microwave cake post, but hey, I probably would have done the same thing. Oh hey, I have! I actually have a microwave cake pan that I used when I was in college. oh the memories….

  21. Thank Goodness I can post now! I very loyally came to visit you on Sunday, and the posts were CLOSED!!! I was going to write you an email, but then I thought you already knew about (turns out you did) what horrible things were happening on your blog, or your were trying to shut me out – on no, say it ain’t so, Anna! I know you wouldn’t!!
Now, as far as hips expanding, the prospect is frightening to me, so I rapidly read through that part – my hips don’t need any help from you or your blogland friends, thank you! LOL! I do love the Patisserie jar – everything is sweeter when spoken in French, is it not, even the oat of meal cookie? Oui, oui, Madame!!
Lastly, a very Happy (Belated)Birthday to YourMum. She is a very talented quilter and has to be a wonderful Mum to have given birth to a very special Anna like you!! XOXO
