Could This Be An Apparition?

Ho. Lee. Cow. Could this be a new post here? I’m holding my breath!

It’s been about a week since my webhost moved my account to a new server. Can you spell GIANT HASSLE? It was one problem after another and night after night of fun with tech support. And can I say those guys need better manuals? Half the time I figured the problem out myself. That whole backwards listing of my posts problem was solved thanks to other bloggers who go to forums and post when they’re having problems. I took their suggestions back to my webhost and then they had an aha moment. So. Enough said…hopefully this will be it until they decide to do another upgrade. Which will hopefully be never.

Anyhoo, Scruff is a little miffed that his letter to Sirius and Cassie got lost in the shuffle.

Scruffy

It’s gone. Poof. Nowhere to be found. Along with all of the comments left by some of you lovelies. During that phase, my comments weren’t being forwarded to my e-mail so there’s no record of them there either. I managed to catch a few of your comments while they were still up, but I know that I missed some of them, ’cause I could see that the comment count was up, but it wouldn’t let me click on them. So…sorry for all the hassle! I’ve also managed to read some of your posts but I haven’t been commenting in the last day or two because of those of you who typically reply to your comments — since my e-mail was down, I didn’t want you to have to deal with bounced messages.

In the meantime, other things have been happening here at Thimbleannaland, but I’ll keep it short tonight — it’s way past my bedtime. Look what appeared in our backyard yesterday:

Bambi

We’ve been here for 9 years, and I’ve never seen deer in our back yard. Poor little thing, I think he’s an orphan. He came running through looking for his mama. He’s a tiny little thing, certainly not any bigger than the German Shepherds that we used to have. At the time, we thought maybe mowers in the neighborhood had separated him from mama, but I’m thinking he’s probably been orphaned. I sure hope some deer mama adopted him last night.

Well…off to bed. Hopefully this post will still be here tomorrow. Thanks for all your patience!!!

XOXO,
Anna

  1. Hi! Pleased to see things are working! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I sent you an e-mail but it bounced back to me so I will try again now. My kids would be thrilled to see a deer in the back yard! Who am I kidding … I’d be thrilled to see a deer in the back yard!!!! :)

  2. I can see your post on your blog. I checked Bloglines and don’t see anything there, but then again I don’t see a lot that I should be seeing anyway. I’ve re-subscribed to your blog on Bloglines so maybe that will help.

  3. I’m crossing my fingers and holding my breath hoping things are fixed for you. Darling cat and deer. Sweet things.

  4. Anna! I found you! Woo – Hoo! I’m so happy your back and hope for you that this never happens again.

  5. Anna, loved the dear little deer. We have deer her all the time, they’re beautiful. I’m so happy I found the cupcake material from Susan Branch on her website. For several days it was out of stock, but today when I went on, Bingo, they had it in. I’m going to make a banner with it for my mother-in-laws 95th birthday party in July. It’g going to be all about cupcakes. Yeah.

  6. Ack – your computer problems sound horrible. I hope everything stays running sweet now.

Awww – I would have been so excited to see Bambi skip across my lawn! Poor little thing – I do hope it survives without it’s Mum.

  7. Oh I’m sooooooo happy your back with us again. Do you have any hair left or did you pull it all out???
The date you asked me about………June 9th.

  8. YAHOO SISTER FRIEND – your back up and running. I tried to answer your comment yesterday and it came back, BOO HOO. Anyway I’m glad that it appears fixed at this point – tell your webhost that your peeps need you and you can’t go away like that ever again. That picture of Scruffie is so sweet and that little deer – I hope he found his momma or someone else. What a sweet sight.

    Hugs – Karen

so happy you can teach the webhost how to do their jobs.
you can let scruffythecat know that MANY of us read his post. and that his green eyes were especially striking in that last photo.
you should take a few days off from work so that you can catch up with all your blogging you missed. we had to resort to checking other blogs, far less interesting ones that hadn’t just put on the wedding of the universe.
    welcome back!!!

  10. I’ve missed you. I hope things are up and running for you now. All my lastest replies to emails and blog would not post. I’ve been trying…really I have. We will see what this post does. Love You! Kim

  11. I hope all the blogging problems have been solved…very frustrating I’m sure. The deer is so sweet, I hope that mama shows up for him.

  12. Hi Anna,
what a lovely suprise having that little guy in your yard. I agree with you, he’s probably been picked up by another mama who was wishing she had more kids. btw, How in the world did you catch such a great photo?

  13. (((((Anna))))) Oh it’s Bambi!!! You deserve some sort of blogger award for being on the spot with your camera lol!!! I am sooo glad you’re back and we are out of the time warp…although I am definitely going back to read some of your old posts that I never would have seen had it not been for the glitch. I love that cat… is that Scruff?
    Hugs,
    Tammy

  14. I wondered what had happened…

What a ldarling thing to have in your garden! I do hope he found some parent to look after him.

  15. If my cat Casper saw that picture of Scruff he’d think he was looking in a mirror, except that his eyes are blue. Otherwise….dead ringer!

  16. Anna! Things are back to “normal”, right? I certainly hope so for your sake. It all looks perfect from here! Love the photo of Scruff, and that sweet baby deer. I hope it’s been adopted by another mommy.

  17. Hi Anna! So sorry about your blog troubles. I have Scruff’s letter on my bloglines–for whatever reason, it’s there. I’ll email it to you. XO

  18. What a very handsome chap Scruff is. Certainly doesn’t live up to his name! Your computer woes sound very frustrating. Glad things are back to normal now.
