Aurifil Christmas Ornament

Hello and welcome to my turn on the Aurifil Christmas Ornament blog hop!

Aurifil blog hop logo #2

Sherri Falls is the genius behind our cute little ornament design and she has done all the work preparing the. pdf patterns for all of you.  (Thank you for all of your hard work Sherri!)  I had great fun stitching my ornament and I love Sherri’s simple construction method — it really makes these ornaments go together quickly.  For my ornament,  I chose to do Christmas stockings waiting to be filled by Santa.

I also played around just a bit with Sherri’s basic ornament design. I added mini ric rac around the outside of the inner circle.  I really wanted to put ric rac or piping around the outside of the ornament too, but I just didn’t have time. If only my sewing machine were set up in BigDaddy’s hospital room!

You can download the pattern for my ornament HERE.  Don’t forget to check out Pat Sloan and Emily Cier — today is their ornament day too. Also, don’t forget to leave a comment on each of our blogs for a chance to win some great prizes from Aurifil.

Have fun stitching!
XOXO,
Anna

  1. Oh, Sherri! I love your cute little ornament! I love doing embroidery anyway, but how cute is that! Can’t wait to make some of these! Cute on the tree, cute on packages! Thank you!

  2. Your ornament is so cute. I’m going to make these for my grandchildren for next year. I paged down and read your post before this one. I hand pieced stars like these last year. I made a small wall hanging “Seven Sister’s” style. I didn’t even notice your not spacing your fussy cut pieces every other one. It’s is definitely not noticeable (unless you are looking for it :)

  3. Really fun and sweet ornament! Can’t believe we only have 6 weeks before it’s Christmas again. This year went by in a blink, though a lot has happened.

  4. LOVE THE RICK RACK! That really adds a lot of pizzaz without alot of work. Thanks for your design!

  5. cute cute!! Need to check out the original ornament. Wish I had time to stitch them up for family this year. Maybe next year…

  6. So cute Anna. Glad things are slowly getting better for BigDaddy. I know the quilt on the bed helps but most of all all the loving attention must inspire him everyday. Hugs around!

  7. That is so pretty Anna and such a great design from Sherri :o) Looks like a perfect little project for stitching in the hospital too.

    xx

  26. Very cute ornament. We have a lot of friends with new babies so that would be the perfect ornament for the new family.

  27. I like your pattern. I have really enjoyed all the recent post also as I read back on your blog. I am not a knitter, but the Halloween socks photos were really creative and the socks looked great.

  28. It’s the sweetest thing EVER! Thanks for sharing your pattern. We have a Christmas Baby due on Dec. 24th. It would be fun to stitch her/him this cute ornament. I’ll leave the name til last.

  29. Its been so long, I bet you might think I’d dropped off the edge of the world. I have just read all the way back on your blog. I’m glad your Dad is recovering and I love the picture of that lady with him that kinda looks like you. What a treat! Your socks are cuties too. Have to have something to keep yourself busy in the hospital. Been there. Sure do miss you. I’m kind of stuck not unloading boxes although I’ve had alot of work done on the condo. Boxes have memories, sometimes good, sometimes sad. I’m going to Seattle for holidays to have fun – too quiet around here. Positive thinking and prayers for you and yours. Hope things get back to your crazy self soon and your Dad feels good. Big hugs, Robin

  30. TOO CUTE, I just downloaded the pattern and I am going to make one for each mini family of my big family

  31. Anna, I will make this one in honor of my three grandchildren, 6, 5, and 2. They will love! We work hard to spend time with the two families together at Christmas. I think our days are numbered in this opportunity, so Granny and Pop-Pop are making it happen!

  32. I love using Aurifil thread and I want to thank you for sharing your sweet ornament. I have started working on the first three ornaments and will start the new ones soon.

  33. We never had a fireplace to hang our stockings from when we were young. We hung them from doorknobs and cupboard pulls, but they were always full of lots of goodies come Christmas morning. Yes, there was always an orange in the toe! Thanks, Anna.

  34. So cute! I’m going to make one for my son & daughter-in-law, and also include their puppy’s name!! THank you for sharing!
