Happy New Year!

The Kitties of ThimbleannaLand want to wish you a Very Happy New Year!

Thimbleanna: Happy New Year

Even if they’re grumpy and uncooperative for picture-taking.  It’s hard to get them to sit together — I don’ t think they like each other very much!

Anyway, I hope you’ve had a good end-of-year week — it all went by in a blur here in our little corner of the world.  It was wonderfully relaxing though.  I’ve been terribly lazy, mostly reading and putzing around.  A teeny bit of sewing, knitting, and organizing of pictures.  Tidbits, but nothing significant.

Do you make resolutions?  I’m not really a resolution maker, but I’ve been thinking about things I’d like to do and make this year.  My list is a mile long and a mile wide — fueled by all the beautiful things to be found on the internet.  I’d kind of like to make an organized list — maybe of 10 things this winter or something.  I had a lot of fun with my list last fall — we’ll see if I can get motivated.  In the meantime, I did a little bit of looking back.  2013 was a really good year here — nice and quiet, which is just how we like it.

Thimbleanna: 2013 Recap

Now, it’s time to look forward. Thanks for checking in and hanging out with me now and then. I love blogs and blogging — with all the newer platforms, it’s quite a bit different than it was seven years ago when I started posting. I feel the connections made with many of you could only be made through blogs though — plus, they’re so fun to go back and read what we were doing in past years.

Best wishes for a Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
XOXO,
Anna

  1. Happy New Year dear Anna! I’m looking forward to seeing what lovely things you’ll be making this year and reading what is going on in your “little corner of the world” as you so nicely put it.

  2. Happy New Year to you! :) So glad we can connect through our blogs! :) I love your idea of a list of things to do over the winter-we always do that for summer vacation and I contemplated a list-kind of like a bucket list-for 2014! :)

  3. Happy New Year! love those cats. i agree, blogging is different now. i find it a bit harder to keep in touch, but I am trying to get back to it. i love instagram and have connected with a bunch of different people, but i still love my blog people to! hope you have a great 2014!!! xo

  4. And a very Happy New Year to you my dear!!! And a big huge thank you for all the Happiness you bring to all of us throughout the year. There would be a huge void without all that you share and inspire us with! I can hardly wait to see what you have in store for us in 2014. And making a list is such a great idea. I hope you finally got your wished for snow. We would love to send some your way. It just won’t stop! But here’s hoping you enjoy the rest of your time off! What have you been reading lately?

  5. Still my favourite way of *meeting* peeps though! even if I do scare the odd one or two by complaining that their blog was too much of a distraction! grin! We have snow, lots, shall I send some down? I need to make a list and be more focused to actually finish more than I start, lol! Happy New Year, Anna!

  6. Happy New Year to the Thimble house – I hope 2014 continues to be a quiet year just like the past year for you. I know for you it will continue to be a creative one – you always blow me away with what you come up with and make me want to try things like knitting – even tho I have 10 thumbs when it comes to that :). I read your comment on Anne’s blog regarding my challenge to her for the month of January. I told her I should challenge you – but that you would probably say “no are you nuts” in a way not as kind as she did LOL – I’m right aren’t I.
New Year Hugs to you – so glad we meet up many years ago – Mrs. Farmhouse

  7. Happy New Year !! Love your kitty pic – makes me miss mine tho:(
I’m looking forward to reading your list and am happy to see that someone can get things accomplished!! Thank goodness for these blogs, you can meet some amazing people!

  8. Happy New Year to you and the kitties! I hope 2014 brings you and your family lots of happiness and wonderful adventures.

  9. Happy New Year! I haven’t even started thinking about goals for this year…I love your idea of picking 10 things per season!

  10. Happy new year to you too! We had a lovely relaxing Xmas too apart from the washing machine and phone dying. It’s so lovely to revisit your lovely projects. I hope I can stay focused this year and not be too tempted by the internet.

  11. Happy New year lovely Anna! I always love reading what you have been up to and I’m always inspired by your creativity! But what you should really have on your list for 2014 is to come to England again!! Xx

  12. Happy New Year!! You’ve had a productive year…I have yet to tally up and see what I managed!

Your last paragraph of your post sums up my thoughts…Blogging is so different than it use to be.. and I wouldn’t have “met” so many people without it…but I wonder how long it will last… I’ve even tried asking the younger generation to look into their crystal ball to guide me to the next big thing as I can’t help but wonder if blogging will evolve to a mix of Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook! If it does I’m not sure I’ll keep up!!

  13. looks like a good year in review Anna.
best wishes for the new year!
did you get the email from fabric and friends? i thought to head out there today, but the snow might have just changed my mind!

  14. Your cats’ expressions crack me up!

And yup, blogging is very different now, but it’s a habit I can’t let go of. Glad there are lovely friends like you who feel the same way. Happy New Year!

  15. I;m impressed! You got the kitties to wear a hat AND sit next to each other. Maybe it’s a harbinger of good things to come in the next year? ;p

    Happy New Year! ;p

  16. Happy New Year! You always inspire me ;). I make long lists/ resolutions every year, it’s kind of a joke I don’t get a tenth of them done. Xoxo

  17. Sweet kitties for sure. Love look back on your beautiful projects….and I feel very lucky to have met you through the blogs!! The best New Year to you and your family.

  18. :sigh
i want my year to look like your year when i grow up.
    i’m making a list!!!
    thanks for the inspiration
you drive me to sew. i was going to say drink, but, i’m old and boring and don’t do that.
    i’m leaving you.
    beijos

  19. The blogging world is a nice world. I agree, some connections would not have been made otherwise. I made a list for myself of things I want to photograph; ironically, I could not recall anything great, but now I have a place to put them when I remember! And I made a list of designers whose work I admire, and I’m planning to knit something from each of them. I was thinking that I would zero in on some fingerless gloves from each one, as available, and at Christmas 2014, I will have a selection of them to give to all my girl friends! And I was also thinking I should do months, as in January is the month of Finishing the Basement.

  20. Happy New Year Anna…….I love your picture recap. My favorite is the yo-yo quilt. Guess what I’ve been working on? Knitting chicken sweaters! For a coworker that has several hens. Too much fun :) Have a good week. Xoxo

  21. Happy New Year Anna~
I always love visiting your blog and I’m grateful that you take the time to inspire us. I agree, bloglandia has changed but I have made so many great connections too.
Nice and quiet, that sounds like a great new year to me.
It was fun to review some of your 2013 moments.

  22. Well I wouldn’t have found you without your blog. I still resist but sometimes wish I had a small quiet one just to record as I went along. maybe Instagram is serving that purpose without words? 10 things a season…if I can count small things like 5 hexie flowers towards that ginormous quilt. When I look at your pictures I so envy the Yoyos and Steam Punk. I do think I will tackle one of Jen kingston quilts this year…just maybe. Hugs!!

  23. I seem to always look at what i don’t do, rather than what I do do. But 2014 is going to be the year of getting healthier for me. I’m not going to recover from this bursitis, pinched nerve thing without seriously making changes.

  24. Happy New Year to you and yours! No resolutions for me, that way I cannot break them. ;o) Lots on my list of things to do. Hey, BTW, don’t think I forgot that bucket list and the picnic cheating you tried to slide by. You might want to add that back on. ;oP
