Additional Info:

  • When I found out I was going to be a Grandma for the first time, I wanted to decorate a bedroom in the house for when my grandchildren would come to visit.  At the same time, Cori Dantini’s cute Little Red Riding Hood fabric came out featuring GRANDMA and I thought it would be perfect for my new Grandma room.
  • I made two quilts for twin beds, one with a blue border and one with a green border (not shown).
  • There are five separate character panels in the fabric: Little Red, The Woodcutter, Wolfie (featured in two styles) and Grandma — this made for a perfect layout of 9 — Grandma in the middle and the other 4 characters each featured twice.
  • I chose the pinwheel block because the blades reminded me of the blades on the woodcutter’s axe.
  • Both quilts were big-stitch handquilted.  1/4″ quilting around the sashing, pinwheel and triangle blocks and then shadow quilting around each character.

Gift?

  • For the Grandma Room.
