The Princesses

Hi Hi! How is it going out there? Are you feeling fall (or spring) yet in your part of the world? We’re having psycho weather here — last weekend we were all hot and sweaty outside with temps around 85F and this weekend we’re freezing with a high of 52F today. I’m ready for the fall weather though, and hopefully we’ll have some pretty, cool days before it gets too cold.

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to have a fun three days with our little princesses. You may remember this picture we took of FinallyAGirl two years ago —

Thimbleanna: Princess!

And last weekend, FinallyAnotherGirl had her moment on the princess bed. We decided not to go with the naked look this time LOL.

Thimbleanna: Princess!

FinallyAGirl looks so much older — I thought they were both about three weeks old, but  I checked the dates and FinallyAGirl was almost 6 weeks old for her picture.  They also might look a little different because of their very different personalities — FinallyAGirl is a little tornado (as her mother calls her!) and always has been, and FinallyAnotherGirl is just the sweetest, cuddly little baby — you barely ever hear a peep out of her.

I spent most of the weekend trying to keep the little tornado busy in hopes that Mama and baby could rest a little.  We had lots of fun making the rice krispy monster cookies.  FinallyAGirl was in charge of placing the googly eyes.  She seemed to love the challenge and ate a LOT of spinkles in the process.  (Fun fact:  the day after your monster cookie clean up, if you happen to have missed sweeping up any sprinkles, you’ll experience the momentary horror that you have mice in the house!)

Thimbleanna: Monster!

We also had lots of fun playing with our babies and taking walks.  Babies love walks, in case you were wondering – and FinallyAGirl loved pulling them around in the wagon.

Thimbleanna: Walk!

We also stomped in lots of puddles, which was super fun.  I think my very favorite moment was when she scrunched down to check out the inner workings of a particular puddle.  She was down there for a long time, so I finally said “FinallyAGirl, what do you see down there?” She instantly replied “ME!”  Well, Duh, Grandma.  (It’s pretty obvious in this picture, but it wasn’t at the time LOL.)

Thimbleanna: Me!

Meanwhile, FinallyAnotherGirl, was unimpressed by it all.

Thimbleanna: Yawn!

Sorry for the baby overload. We can get back to regularly (sporadic) scheduled programming now. It sure is fun being a grandma — I’ve even had some baby makes that I’ll post before too long!

Have a wonderful weekend!
XOXO,
Anna

  1. Ohhhhhhh how cute! They are beautiful little girls. You are blessed and I am so happy for you. I need finally a girls little red boots! Sweet xo

  2. What fun you must be having Anna! Those little girlies are so precious. The picture of FinallyAGirl in her red rubber boots makes me think of the children’s illustrator, Eloise Wilkin and her pictures of adorable children at play.

  3. Oh, so sweet! I imagine you’re particularly thrilled since you had two boys. Finallyagirl sure is getting big!

  4. I love living vicariously through you! You just had my dream weekend… and FinallyAGirl’s genius fashion sense is showing early – black and white polka dots and stripes with RED boots! Swoon! She must take after her grandma. ;-)

  5. Cute pictures, loved seeing them. I have another Granddaughter due to arrive any day, so am on Granny standby Duty. My daughter already has two tornados ( ages 2 and 1 – yes, just 16 months apart) and I am so hoping this little one will be the calm in the storm. I just love their antics though and soooooooooo glad that I get to go home to a peaceful quiet bed!

  6. it is so much fun being a grandma – we always regret that we don’t live closer but that is just the way it turns out at times. I was able to post a photo of my two a couple days ago on my blog too and would have liked to post 50 photos lol

  7. Oh don’t apologise for all that baby cuteness. I love it… especially that picture of Finallyagirl peering in that puddle. Too cute!

  8. Such adorable pictures! Enjoy them! It really is fun being a Grandma…I’ve gotten to see my little peanut most weekends since she arrived. They came back to church yesterday, so now I should see her just about every Sunday! Wish you lived closer to your girls!

  9. those baby girls are AWESOME and my heart soars like a hawk to know that you know how incredible it is to be their grandmother … and it is good to know that i am not the only person on Planet Earth to think that jimmies look like mouse tracks

  10. Precious times :) You must make the best Grandma Anna – sprinkles and puddle walks and princess beds and all manner of other magic for your two special small girls. They’ll have such a great childhood with your creativity and imagination coming up with lots of marvellous things for them to enjoy xxx
