The Day’s Recap

How’s your weekend going so far?  Mine has been nice and relaxing.

There’s been surveying of the wind damage to the roof and picking of the new shingle color.

Bad Roof

A little cleaning.

Cleaning

Chocolate Chip and Frosted Orange Cranberry.

Baking

And a little stitching with my lap dog buddy.

Cleaning

Which resulted in a mug cozy.  ‘Cause I’m a sipper and only halfway through the tea, it gets cold.

Mug Cozy

Have a Happy Sunday!

XOXO,
Anna

  1. Sounds like you are having a nice weekend. At the very least, some time for stitching. I like your tea cozy. I agree, my tea is always too cold before I’m done!

  2. LOVE your mug cozy! I have the same trouble with my coffee – my little people keep me busy :) Hope the winds/storms calm enough for the new roof to go on – you really need it!

  3. Hm…other than the wind damage part, that does sound like a good weekend! Those cookies look so good. I’m going to have to try them. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  4. I love the mug cosy, so pretty! I am having a good weekend thank you, I’ve been dyeing fibre and creating felt panels to sew onto project bags….I also need to do a blog post!

  5. The roof looks scary! That must have been some wind. On the other hand the stitching and the mug cosy are definitely not scary!! I can’t wait to see the stitchery finished.

  6. Anna your stitchery and coordinating fabrics look so pretty. Is it your own design? At first I thought that was a bunny on your lap, it is getting close to Easter. I’m off to take a look at your cookie recipe, orange and cranberry are always a great combo!

  7. I think I should copy you and make a coffee mug cozy because I have the same problem and I like my coffee hot. Our neighbors had to replace their roof due to the high winds of a few weeks ago too. It was a mighty strong wind that lasted a long time too.

  8. Sounds like a great weekend, thus far! Excluding the wind damage. Many people around us had damage to their roofs, and siding, as well.
I love the cozy, too, and my coffee usually gets reheated because it gets cold, but it’s never as good as fresh! :) I love the stitching!
I am going to be trying the cookies, too! :))

  9. Your mug cozy is great! As I sit here sipping a luke warm cup of coffee, I am thinking that would be a good project to add to my list. Good luck with the roof.

  10. Now I know why you were envying my new shingles LOL. Glad you survived with little damage. That mug cozy is dang cute there sister and is sure to keep your tea warm for a long period of serious stitching or whatever your doing. The emptynestchild looks pretty cozy there. Nothing like a snuggler on the lap for great company.

    Hugs – Karen

  11. First of all, let me say could your banner be any cuter??? Dang, that is cute. Then I get reading and I LOVE your tea cozy….love it. I have the same problem, cold tea. I think you should give a little tutorial on that Ms. Anna. By the way, we had to replace our roof in the last couple of years and I do feel for you. I hope you get a reasonable price. When we did it, we also blew a bit of insulation in at the same time to help with our heating.

  12. Love that mug cozy and the sox are super cute. Cleaning, yeah, I need to get on that. Love all your wonderful pictures.

  13. No shingles have blown off ours but we too will be getting a new roof this spring. I am hoping it’s the final thing we do to this house before we sell it. And that mug cozy is so cute I may have to copy you Ms. Anna so my beverage stays warm longer.

  14. The mug cozy is so cute! Oh gosh, I really like that. My first thought when I saw it was I want to make one. I wish I could hold it in my hands and take in every detail! You are so talented.

  15. That’s an adorable mug cover. What a great idea. Also, I’m all for the cookies but would rather not think of cleaning solutions today-lol.

I’ll tackle that stuff next week sometime-lol.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

  16. Where, oh where, do I get the cozy pattern? My tea is constantly getting cold on me.

I’ve been cleaning and baby sitting the grandsons. All of which means I’m tired!

  17. Mug cosy – what a wonderful idea. Maybe you could do a patchwork roof cosy – save on those expensive shingles and insulate it at the same time….?

  18. I love the mug cozy so much, I need to make one. Let me just add that to my mile long “wish to make” list, which is located right behind my two mile long “to do” list. Can I borrow a pencil….

    Amy :)

  19. Isn’t it funny how the obvious isn’t obvious to some of us—the creatively challenged? Now that I have seen your mug cozy, it is glaringly obvious to me that I need one of those! My tea gets zapped in the microwave multiple times because I take a sip, then forget about it, then take another sip–yuk! Nothing more blah and insipid than tepid tea!
My sister regaled me by telephone this w.e. with details of the gale force winds and [expletive deleted]rain in the land of my birth. Which made me smile smugly since our weather here is at its nicest. [Don’t worry, she couldn’t see, and I made sure to make all the right, sympathetic, clucking noises in suitably somber tones to convey my sympathy.] The only problem I can forsee with my using a mug cozy would be that my gorgeous Jonathan Moss mug [gifted to me by said sister] would be covered up. Google it, you won’t be sorry!

  20. Oops! I lied! It’s Nicholas Mosse Pottery/Ireland! Click on “tea’. The mug in the picture is MY mug. I’m sure you’ll agree it would be a mortal sin to cover it up!!

  21. That’s a wonderful mug cosy – really cute. And the cookies look yummy! Spring is definitely on the way here – it’s finally warmer – Yay! x

  22. I love the little mug cozy. So adorable!! Did you make up the pattern? We have been fighting the weather to have our roof replaced since Hurricane Ike blew through here last September. (Also new siding since it also was damaged in the storm.) It was finally finished last week. What a relief!! I know you will feel the same soon.

  23. What a CUTE mug cozy! Sounds like I had the same weeknend. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. And the cookies…. very yummy looking!

  24. That is probably the prettiest mug cozy I’ve ever seen! I love the embroidery and spring fabrics. I’m glad you had a good weekend…sounds very relaxing!

  25. I love the detail you put in your projects Anna! Everything is an epic with you when you put needle and thread in your hands. you just amaze me.

  26. i know your not a big fan of tag awards, but i couldn’t help myself. i won’t be offended if you don’t play along…just know that i think your great!

  27. What a nice weekend you had, except for the cleaning part. Those cookies look delicious, and the mug cozy is totally adorable.

  28. Wow I want one of those cosies they’re beautiful! The cookies look very tempting too, Sorry to see the roof damage photos, you have got a lot of work to do haven’t you. Take care

  29. After all the comments about the cozy, this comment is going to seem like it’s coming from nowhere, hehehe :)

When I was little I thought Elvis was sooo handsome, but everytime they would show pics or film of him as he got older, I would cringe….he was really NOT handsome at that point, and it made me a little sad. Maybe it was all the weight gain, hair and flashy clothes. It seemed like he had lost himself along the way. Seeing middle aged women throw their undies at him would have been disturbing to me too…Did you know these women? What a story to tell if you did! Ha!

Did my title bar show all the html stuff? It seems fine to me, but if I ever get on here while using the laptop, it does that…I have no idea why. Any suggestions?

  30. You simply MUST tell more about your darling tea cozy! OMG… it’s ADORABLE!

HA… picking a new roof color was one of the hardest things for me about getting a new roof (besides the bill). When we looked at all the sample cards (ha, cards… they weighed a ton), my husband said, “just pretend it’s fabric”. Oh sure, THAT made it a WHOLE lot easier.

  31. Think I’ll pass on the roof and the cleaning and settle for those great looking cookies and a little sewing with a four legged friend.

  32. I’m also a sipper, but I look at it this way…I’m getting two drinks in one. Hot Tea. And ice tea. Bonanza!

That tea cozy is so cute. It looks like the little slice of spring I’m waiting for.

    Happy Day,
    Cassie
