Roadtrip 2009

Hmmm. Vegemite — apparently, you either love it or you hate it. Thanks for all the advice — I’m very anxious to test it out. I’ll give you a full report when it happens. ;-)

In the meantime, remember these pillowcases?

Roadtrip

It’s time, once again to bring them out.  The kids and I are leaving in the morning to head “out west”.  WooHoo!  Ah Loves Me A Roadtrip!  SweetiePie has never been west of Colorado Springs and I’m really excited to be able to go out there with her.  We’ll be visiting family, hiking The Narrows in Zion National Park, and visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  (Not to mention the quilt shops and a few other things.)

So, I’m leaving you with pictures of our coneflowers this year.  We had a gorgeous bumper crop (which prompted a banner change, in case you hadn’t noticed).

Conflowers

I want to remember them and I’m hoping they’ll still be here when we get back.

Coneflowers

Behave yourselves while I’m gone and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do! ;-)

XOXO,
Anna

  1. I have to add that a lot of kids have vegemite and cheese sandwiches and now they are trialing a vegemite with cheese added and want people to come up with a name like cheesymite. Yuk.
Wonderful photos, have a great trip away.

  2. I just found out that all the comments that I’ve been making through my google reader list aren’t posting. No wonder no one ever comments back.

Have a great trip. The weather is warm…OK hot here, so be prepared. Take lots of pictures to share too please.

  3. Have a wonderful trip. We love it out west but have never been to the places you are planning on going to. Yes, take LOTS of pictures.

  4. Ah, coneflowers in the summer in Indiana! What a site!

I help take a group of teens to Wy. last year. It was so much fun seeing the mountains and summer snow with them. Most had not ever been west of the Mississippi.

Have fun and take some great pixs!

  5. Have a fabulous trip! And I did notice your banner! How very clever of you! My coneflowers are doing really well this year too. ;o) ooxx`jod

  6. What a darling and clever idea to put your thimbles on top of your coneflowers. I love it! I can’t wait to see you and I’m counting the days. Enjoy your trip to the narrow’s. It’s gorgeous down there. My husband and son have both been there and the pictures they brought back are amazingly beautiful! Enjoy your time together exploring!! See you soon!

  7. I love marmite, but not vegemite. Hope you have a great trip. I can’t promise to be good but I will try and be careful!

  8. Road- TRip! That sounds like adventure and freedom,
and with that pillows, the adventure will be cosy and pleasant.
    Have a good trip

  9. Those pillowcases are awesome! Have a fun and safe roadtrip.

Those coneflowers are very pretty! I love the pink. Great new header, too! Okay, this is going to sound like a dumb question, but did you photo shop those thimbles on there or actually put them on there? If you photoshopped them on you did such a good job that it’s hard to tell! If you set ’em on there I’m impressed with your raw photography skills! Awesome pic!

  10. You are going to have a fantastic time!! I just love those kind of trips. The Grand Canyon one of my faves, just completely awesome. What would a trip be without stopping at some quilt shops? Not really sure. The banner is just wonderful!! See you when you return.

  11. Oh you know I’m loving those pillowcases – a blast from the past. Your flowers are beautiful and the header is a nice touch. Have a safe and wonderful trip with the fam. Looking forward to hearing about it.

  17. OMGosh I think that the last statement on your post leaves the field wide open for all of us!! Have a great time. Take lots of pictures!!

  18. I am so jealous Anna, I love Zion. I made that trip many years ago and wanted to go last year but things didn’t work out. This year I am paying for tooth implants so no vacation for me, maybe next year. Honk when you go through Denver.

  20. Have a great trip Anna! I noticed your new Banner, I love it and your cone flowers, they are such a nice plant. Your photography is wonderful too.

  21. Have a WONDERFUL trip Anna. I’m with your son on the vegemite – give me Marmite any day. As Mr P and MissP1 say ‘It’s made from BEER!’ He does teach her terrible things!

Gorgeous coneflowers – I think it’s Echinacea – is that right? I’ve just remembered how good it is at fending off colds xx

  22. have a great trip! Hope you have a nice relaxing time. I am wondering about the Vegemite though, you have had it a few days now and still haven’t tried it. :)

  23. Oh I still love the pillowcases. Have a wonderful time, we loved Our trip out West and would love to go again. See Ya when you get back. xoxo

  25. The pillowcases are awesome and I definitely want to know more about them. We hiked the Narrows, too, as well as visited the North Rim. You’re going to have a totally grand time and I look forward to hearing about your adventures upon your return.

  26. Have a wonderful time. I can’t wait to see the pictures. My daughter will be at the Grand Canyon early next week. Who knows? You may pass one another on a hike. :)

  27. Hope you’re having a blast! BTW, love the way your flowers are growing their own thimbles. Must be hybrids.

    :)

  28. Hope you’re having a wonderful time. I love those flowers. they’re beautiful.
Vegemite – (marmite). sometime I love it, sometimes I hate it …

  29. Hi Anna, hope you’re having a great holiday. We’re just back and I’m catching up with blogs – that frozen t-shirt game sounds sadistic! But maybe I’m just looking at it from a Scottish point of view. Cosy t-shirts is what you usually need in a Scottish summer…

  30. I LOVE those pillow cases. I wanna be in your family. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt have a road trip pillow case on my roadtrip.
I hope your having a good time. You should be home though, the weather is just P E R F E C T.

  31. Ohhhhh love the new banner. Your flowers are beautiful. And…….since the weather is perfect there probably still alive waiting for you.
Ohhhh and I’m here too and your not!!

  32. Have fun Anna. I know you will. I am anguished over not having a day with you and Kim today. So much going on here. Please know that there is nothing I would rather do. Nothing.
