Kitties and Winners

Wow! Are you guys all Aurifil-ed out? Thanks to everyone for playing along — it was a fun blog hop.

Now to the real reason you’re here — the winners of the two little sample packs:
LauraLovesQuilting and CateringQuilter
Congratulations Ladies! Please send me your addresses and I’ll get your packages shipped off to you.
For the rest of you, you still have a chance at the grand prize — Pat will announce the winner on her blog on Monday!

Otherwise, not much going on around here. I’ve started the big (ok, huge, for me) task of figuring out how we’re going to update our kitchen and family room. At long last, the end of the UH-GLY green tile is in sight. (The downside is that it will be the end of the 18-year-old threadbare couches — I doubt we’ll be so lucky to find couches that will last as well as these old babies have.)  It’s going to be a long project and I’m not really looking forward to it, but it will be nice to be rid of a lot of the tile around here. And guess what? I enlisted the aid of one of those free design services from a furniture store, and she said I need a big quilt to hang on a high empty wall that we have. Ooooh baby, that’s right up my alley!

Kitties Playing

The kitties aren’t very impressed with all the furniture and fabric talk going on though — they’re back to their usual antics with the rug.  Something moved under the rug, so PaulKitty pounced on it.

So it stopped moving.  As if I’m supposed to do something about it.

He bravely reached in under there to see what’s shakin’.

So, it stopped moving again and he waited it out.

Aha!  It moved out to the end, so Paul Kitty jumped on it.

They tussled around for awhile.

Then decided a good knucklebump was in order and called a truce.

If only this decorating adventure could be that easy!
XOXO,
Anna

  1. Those cats are too cute! Love your narration of their carpet adventure :)

We’re in discussions about renovating our very tiny bathroom. To expand or not to expand, that is the question… Good luck with your projects!

  2. Congrats to the lucky winners!! Boo Hoo! Your kitties are adorable and such a hoot.. Good luck with the remodel, can’t wait to see what kind of quilt you make.

  3. Oh it really is daunting isn’t it? We have reached the point of getting our plans approved but still have the battles to fight about the actual layout and design.

CK has even pointed out that we will need a big curtain to cover the porch/lobby in Winter and has tasked me with the job! This may cause more relationship saga than the whole build.

  4. hello anna!
oh, re-decorating is at the same time a fun and a horrible task…i think the planning is all fun (possibilities!!) but the actual work – be it removing all that STUFF from the rooms or anything related – is just a pain in the …button :)
i really love hanging a quilt on the wall, unfortunately, my bf won’t let me do it in our living room (because there we both have to be okay with decorations)…so i go crazy in my own area :)
oh, and your kitty picture story is so stinkin’ c….cat’ish (phew, i nearly wrote the c-word!)
    have a wonderful sunday,
    julia

  5. kudos winners!
& good luck with the decorating…
it is daunting but, just wait until it is completed…
& you get to create a grand quilt!!

  6. Your kitties are so cute and funny. They are like little boys the way they fight and play. Good luck with the redecorations. Just keep the result in sight when it gets ugly ;).

  7. The Kitties are so cute, love em! The decorating/remodel is a pain but you will be sooooooo happy when it is complete, thinking of you. xoxo

  8. Gotta love kitties! They’re usually so serious about their silliness.

I’m a little envious of your impending updates. It’s so much fun, especially in the planning stages. The actual work can be exhausting though, ha, ha.

  9. Good luck with all the changes. We put in a new kitchen two years ago. Malcolm of course did the work (I do the design) The main priority was more cupboard space. We also wanted a much lighter colour as the kitchen faces west/north and only gets evening sun. Even I smiled at the kitties (I’m definitely a dog person!)

  10. lol, these cats are hilarious…they need their own reality show…just think of it: the money made from having a reality show could pay for the remodel! Brilliant! ;0

Kitty, there’s someone on the phone for you…

  11. Oh my gosh the cats! Soooo funny! It’s a good thing cats sleep a lot, because if they played all the time, you’d never get anything done! Such good entertainment.

  12. You know we’re going through kitchen renovations…yep that was the present tense…not past tense. It’s still in progress. The big stuff is the “easy” part..it’s all the details that take all the time! Look forward to seeing your before and after shots. :)

  13. Oooh, a big job but i’m sure you will do a wonderful job and love it in the end. I keep trying to convince the farmer that we need to pull up the starting-to-have-seen-better-days carpet on the first floor and install some king of hard flooring. But it won’t be tile! I developed such a disike of ceramic tile when I used to clean house for a dr’s wife in college. Altho now I wish our bathrooms had ceramic tile. I’m so fickle.
