Five on Saturday

Because I can’t get my act together to post Five on Friday! Ooops! Anyway …

1. No baby news yet.  There’s still a little making o’ baby stuff going on while we wait. A little princess has to have a little pink crown, right? (Pattern available here.)

Thimbleanna: baby crown.

2.  Are you a multi-tasker?  Of course you are.  You can walk and text right?  Or cook dinner and help with the homework?  Or do a million different things at the same time?  BUT.  Are you a Super Tasker???  Take the quiz and find out Here.  It takes about 40 minutes and fair warning … it’s not easy.  At least it wasn’t for me.  There are three parts — audio, visual and audo + visual.  I did great on the visual (confirming what I already knew about being a visual person — I even scored 100% a few times) but not so hot on the audio (I can just hear TheManoftheHouse now — “You never listen to me” LOL), so my combined scores put me just below the line to be a Super Tasker.  Darn It.  You’d think I wouldn’t have time for these games.  But No.  We’re Waiting on a Baby!  Anyway, Give It A Try!!!

3.  If you’ve been around for awhile you know I’m not a big fan of facebook.  It REALLY honks me off that every time I comment or like something or whatever, it feels the need to inform the planet.  And don’t get me started on the Ads.  So, a few weeks ago, I had a new interesting facebook experience.  When TheManoftheHouse was in the rehab hospital, he had an elderly roommate.  The roommate had a daughter and granddaughter who are just beginning to learn the ins and outs of taking care of a parent at home.  Having recently been through that experience with BigDaddy, I told the daughter to call me if they needed any references.  About a month later, the granddaughter called and we had a nice conversation and I gave her some information.  Then, about a month after that, facebook suggested that I friend the granddaughter.  Wow!  Granddaughter lives 4 hours away from here and we don’t have one. single. friend in common on facebook.  How on earth would facebook know to recommend that I friend her?  I’ll tell you how.  Facebook is snooping around in my phonebook.  WTF????  They’re snooping around in your phonebook too.  #ieffinghatefacebook  (Facebook and effing both start with “F” — need I say more?)  (Gratuitous cat picture — #scruffhatesfacebooktoo).

Thimbleanna: Scruffy

4.  More trying to keep busy knitting.  A few little pacifier holders for baby.  The pattern is in the book Itty-Bitty Nursery by Susan B. Anderson.  (That’s not an affiliate link — I don’t get squat.)

Thimbleanna: Pacifier Holders

5.  A few beautiful Tula Pink fabrics have arrived in my little etsy shop.  I LOVE this beautiful Chipper line and this colorway is even prettier in real life.  I’m hoping to sew a little with it tomorrow.  But, maybe the baby will come!  ;-D

Thimbleanna: Chipper

Hope you’re having a great weekend!
XOXO,
Anna

  1. There are very few people having babies now days that can just wing it. They all have these schedules that everything has to fit into…..
It will turn up when it turns up……

  2. I am on Facebook but limit to family – I just don’t want every in the world to know where I am or what I am doing – but still now and then I get these”friend” things too wondering how the heck and who the heck are they – love the princess crown – yes babies take time to get here – sooner or later your granddaughter will arrive :). Patience! Well have to check out your quiz – interesting!

  3. maybe you’re hangry … eat a piece of carrot cake and tell FB to go eff themselves…

    i’m not sayin’…

    i’m just sayin’…

  4. I remember someone saying to me when I was 9 months pregnant that “babies come when they feel like it – not when you (or doctors) think they should”. I remember wanting to punch that person in the face at the time – 9 months pregnant is NOT a good time to give “advice” like that! LOL Hopefully, next time you post, you’ll be all grandma-glowy and the new baby will be proudly wearing her crown!

Oh and there’s no way you’ll find me on FB. Why does the world need to know what I’m doing – and why would I even tell them? None of their business what I’m doing! Yes, #ieffinghatefacebook! ;o)

  5. LOL, I know how hard waiting is Anna. My third baby was 2 wks late :) Just tell Mom to relax and enjoy being pampered. LOL

  6. Everyone knows babies make their own schedules. LOL She will be the most loved little bundle that’s for sure and have all of the sweetest handmade grandma things. I had a Facebook account briefly. Deleted it. I’m annoyed enough with all of the spam on IG. They can even get to my private account! Happy Father’s Day for the father’s and fathers to be in your life.

  7. Hi Anna,
The little crown is too sweet for words! I love it. Facebook is also in cahoots with Amazon. I had a look for a toy for my grandson a few weeks ago, and next time I was on Facebook, there was a “recommended post” for the same product. It showed up for a few weeks. They are tracking everything we do on the computer, it seems. I hope your granddaughter arrives soon!

  8. Love the crocheted pacifier holders. They turned out great. We’re waiting patiently on this end for the baby????. Let us know and knit (or crochet) until then. I hear it a great stress reliever.

  9. The pink princess crown is adorable. Your comments on facebook are exactly why I choose not to be on it even if I do miss out on some things, I just don’ t like how nosy it is. It already creeps me out when I look at something on Amazon and then get advertisements trying to get me to buy that item.

  10. What a pretty crown for a princess baby. I really tried to like facebook but I agree with you that it’s just a bit invasive. Much nicer to have a sweet cat photo. I love the baby pacifier holders, that elephant is so cute!!

  11. those pacifier holders are adorable!!!

yeah, i hate facebook too. i hate that it nags me with pokes, messages, and suggestions. ugh.

  12. i LOVE THAT CROWN!!!!!! how are you going to be the other grandma for my grandbabies? okay… so i was wondering about fb, because it suggested that i become friends with my housekeeper and we have no friends in common. it’s pretty creepy isn’t it? that elephant paci clip is adorable. love the fun vibrant colors in the new fabric. i will have to figure something out – because i will def. need some!
:sending best wishes your way and thinking that little baby brigita has already made her appearance.

  13. what a cute cute crown and binky holders.
I only tried the first part of the test, but it was fun. I got 80% but quit because I haven’t had enough coffee.

I think today is baby day – I’ll be keeping a good thought! You must be on pins and needles.

  14. Karen Tunnicliffe

Girls are known for being late, but so worth it. Just keep making cute stuff and showing it to us, I love seeing what you’re doing.

  15. Well I finally caught up on 9 months of missed blogs, and I don’t even have an excuse since yours is the only one I read. Shame on me. I still love your beautiful blog and I hope you’re enjoying a beautiful grandbaby at this very moment. ;)

  16. Becoming a grandmother is as nerve wrecking as becoming a mother, isn‘t it? I so hope all is well and that her sweet Royal Highness, AKA little miss pink, has arrived now! ;-)
