A Little Store

Well Hello There! It’s a beautiful spring day here in the heartland, and I hope you’re having a nice day too! I’ve been busy, busy all week (and then some!) birthing bunnies, as, after much thinking and deliberation and many bunny requests, I’ve decided to open a teeny, tiny little store here in ThimbleannaLand. {Eeeep!}

I should probably back up a little. A few months ago I went on a search to find Moda’s gorgeous Bella by the Bolt. What with the nine-patch quilts, the yoyo quilt, embroidery pieces, and my new-found love of quilts with solid fabric I realized that I was burning through solids and I should buy it by the bolt. A search ensued and I turned up … nothing. There are many of you out there who crank out more quilts with white and solid sashings than I do and I thought YOU might also share my Bella by the Bolt problem.  So, being a Bella hungry girl with a website, I decided to open a specialized little shop and sell Bella by the Bolt.

Store Button

I set about making a little store and when that Bolts o’ Bella page was done, it was looking like an empty little store, so I decided I’d pop a bunny pincushion page in there too. I’m not a bunny making machine though, so there won’t be very many bunnies in that room of the store.

Chocolate Bunny

And THEN, since that bunny room was so small, I thought I’d add just one more page for the occasional fun thing that might strike my fancy. I had a scare a few months ago when the source of my Patisserie Dome went out of business. I whined about this problem to my good buddy, Linda NoBlog, who also has a beloved dome, and she discovered a source for the domes. If you’ve been here very long, you know I LOVE my Patisserie Dome, so I couldn’t resist putting it in the store. While I was searching, I found a cool Bon Appetit Dome, so I plopped that in the fun stuff room too.

Patisserie Dome

So, to recap, I opened a little store with three rooms:

  • Bella Solids — available all the time. And currently on a Grand Opening Special of 20% off through April 30th!!!
  • Bunny Pincushions — available once-in-a-blue-moon. ‘Cause making those little arms and legs is time consuming!
  • Fun Stuff — available most of the time. A few of my favorite things that I thought you might like too!

And please don’t worry. This won’t turn into a store blog. {Really. Stop rolling your eyes!} It’s too teeny tiny to take-over — my day job will keep that from happening.

If you have time — I’d love it if you’d check it out — Thimbleanna{dot}com!

And have a wonderful weekend!
XOXO,
Anna

  7. here’s hope your wee store turns into a big store??? (thats wee as in little, not the other sort silly)…
I love your bunny’s they are too darn cute… I’d have to buy one of those glass dome’s to put it in to save it from an evil bastard cat… he likes soft toys, carry’s around in his mouth… he would of made a great mother…

    Lissa
owner of one VERY confused evil bastard pussy cat and one not so naughty beagle :O)

  8. I knew you could fit more hours in to your day…the domes are to die for – and you know how I feel about your fun stuff (i’m the proud owner of a few fun stuffs). Now I’m going to have to check everyday. My back won’t let me quilt right now (much less anything else) but I could invest in some “fun stuffs” when I see them and before they’re gone. Very best of luck to your little fun store, always, robin

  9. What fun! A Thimbleanna shop sounds wonderful. I can’t wait to visit.
I love your new header with the daffodils. Their bright little faces make me believe in Spring, even though it’s nasty here – windy and cold, and it snowed last night! Oh yuck.
    Have a lovely weekend, Anna.

  10. Well done Anna – best of luck in your new venture – I am sure it will be a huge success!!! Do you ship overseas? Love the shop Logo/design with you peaking over the bolt of fabric : -)

  11. Congratulations Anna on your new venture. I am sure you will make it a huge success. Off to take a peek now.

  12. What a brilliant idea; selling fabric by the bolts…. and other fun stuff. I’m just wondering when you find the time to do it all??? Do you ship overseas?? Good luck dear Anna!

  13. Good luck in your new little venture! Why am I the only one who doesn’t know what moda bella is? Is it almost like moda marbles? Sort of solid but not quite?

  14. Anna:
I’m right there with everyone else…I get to have one of your precious bunnies. I just ordered it.
Good luck with your store and thanks…bunny will love it in Colorado.

  15. I was so scared I was too late to order that I didn’t really leave an appropriate comment..I had to zoom over to your store and make sure I could get my bunny–and I got one!!!!! I can’t believe it…I never make these things in time lol!! So ok deep breaths here…good job on starting a store, I know it’s huge because I’ve been thinking about it myself for like 3 years lol! I don’t think a lot of people realize the work involved. Good for you Anna and I am soooo excited to get a bunny and to support what you’re doing all at the same time I am sooo happy right now. It’s just so sad to have to rely on TMOTH for a bunny fix, when he ignores all the bribes you know lolol!!! O.k. so he’s off the hook now, poor guy..I will resume speaking to him :) When I win the lottery I will be back for one of those amazing domes!

  16. Congratulations on this endeavor. I hope you have great success. I am not quite to the point where I need to buy fabric by the bolt, but the colors sure are pretty and tempting.

  17. Well good for you! How funny is that illustration – such a good likeness! I wish you and your little shop lots of success! xxx

  18. That’s awesome, Anna! Congratulations! :) (Gads, I wish there was a punctuation mark other than the exclamation point that shows excitement and joy.) Love your bunnies and that dome? Ah, sigh, love. If I had one, I would stare at it every day as well. lol
Hope you have a super weekend.

  19. Hooray! Oh and WAY CUTE Daffodils! ;o) When I saw your page was loading when I hit my next favorites button my tool bar, I thought. mmmmm. Wonder if… LOLOL!

  20. Congrats on opening your cute little store. I wish you much success! Those domes are gorgeous and the bunnies are adorable. (I don’t sew so I can’t get excited about the Bella bolts :o)

  21. Congrats on your new store sweetie. You are soo generous with all your readers, I think you should have a shop (and not feel bad about it). Love the covered domes xoxoxoxo Clarice

  22. Congratulations, Anna! It looks wonderful. I’m sending my sister in law over your way–she’s quite a quilter! Best wishes. XO

  23. I was gone out of state and missed your grand opening. But I do want you to now that I wish you the absolute very best with your venture. It’s a wonderful opportunity and I know you’ll do well.

  24. I’ve encountered this problem before. I’m hooked into RJR premium cottons now but I could have used when buying fabric for teaching. I love solids more and more all the time. Your shop is super cute.

  25. Well, I had never even heard of a macaron so I am quite intrigued now and will have to visit Not So Humble Pie’s blog to find out what it is all about. They look very fiddly to make. But yours did look very pretty, even if they were hollow!

  26. Shop! Ding a ling (that’s the bell above the door). Lovely little shop you have there Anna – best of all shopkeepery luck with it! Emma x

  27. That bunny is MINE! HOORAY!! I got the last one! I’ve been wanting one and I’m finally going to have one. Thank you Anna!!!

  28. Oh, don’t tempt me! Mr. Handsome will have a stroke if I start buying fabric by the bolt. I’ve been on a little binge lately. I’m out of room on the Shelves of Love. Must go sew now. Congrats on the new store. I do love that Robin Egg blue. I could use a bolt of that, right? Could you sell Amy Butler Full Moon Polkies??? I would buy it all!!!!

  29. ACK! Again, I’m late to the party? Do you take custom orders? I would LOVE to order a chocolate bunny. I am a brown and pick-a-holic? Were we buddies yet when I got married? It was a Neapolitan affair, all cream, chocolate brown and strawberry pink. :) So you know I need a bunny pin cushion for my craft room, right? Have a begged enough??
